Meet the trainer

Growing up, Shylie enjoyed all aspects of horses from breeding to competing in 1 & 3 Day Events, Showjumping and Dressage, riding track work, breaking & educating young horses for a local trainer.

That trainer was Pat Holland, he was a great horseman and greatly admired by many.

I love working out how the horses think and respond to the work and schooling that they are given, each horse is a new package and can’t really be compared to another.

I take a hands-on approach with every horse in my stable and every thoroughbred is treated as an individual, trained on their merits and needs.

A variety of work helps in keeping the horses interested in their work by using local beaches and being able to have them freshened at home on the farm can really help.

Also having had a career as a veterinary nurse has come in handy in dealing with any issues that come up and quickly identify problems so they can be treated quickly and effectively.
