Trainer Shylie Williams trained a winning treble at the Port Lincoln races on Sunday after the victories of Strawpedo, Hank’s Nephew and Heisenberg in the last race.
Strawpedo ($3.80) has been racing consistently this preparation and deserved her grinding win over a gallant Kazanjian, who was given a good ride.
Terrapina put in an improved showing to fill the trifecta position.
Atomic Hero started a short priced favourite and was most disappointing in not handling the jump from maiden grade.
Hank’s Nephew ($5.50) returned to his best. Settling back he showed a brilliant turn of foot to gun down the well fancied Moon Devil, who had every chance in the lead.
The Shylie Williams-trained five-year-old looked a class above over the concluding stages, dashing away for a two and a half length win over a handy field.
He now has eight wins and 10 seconds from his 26 starts here in Port Lincoln.
Heisenberg ($10) didn’t like being restrained back in the field so jockey David Tootell let him rip out wide and he swept up and challenged the leaders as they straightened.
Hezafraar was in for the fight however and these two had a great duel to the line with Heisenberg getting the judge’s verdict.
