Danehill added another name to the list of his sons to sire a winner at Port Lincoln on Friday.
His penultimate-crop colt Formal Attire moved off the mark with Nitro Magic in the Lowe-Redding Design Plate (1000m). The 3yo filly is part-owned and prepared by local trainer Shylie Williams.
Formal Attire (Danehill – Ruffles by Zeditave) was bred in the purple from a winner of a G1 VRC Newmarket. Initially trained by Brian Mayfield-Smith, he won two sprints at Sandown before transferring to Perth where he was stakes placed in the LR Summer Scorcher at Ascot
Formal Attire stood in WA for a season and then relocated to Jenny Gow-Whyte at Janna Park in South Australia where he died in November 2012.
